Lund University announces a position as professor in business administration, with special focus on social entrepreneurship. The position is for full time employment. It is a permanent appointment that is placed at the Sten K Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship at the Department of Business Administration, Lund University School of Economics and Management.

Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship was inaugurated in 2012. Today, the Centre has grown to some 20 employees that conduct teaching and research in entrepreneurship. That makes Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship one of the largest entrepreneurship centres in Europe, and the ambition is to grow even further. Research at the Centre has so far been focused on the entrepreneurial process. The new position of professor expected to strengthen and complement these areas as well as strengthen the perspective of social entrepreneurship.

Position
For the position, experience and knowledge within the research field of social entrepreneurship is required. Hands-on experience from social entrepreneurship activities is also needful.

Description of the Position
The duties of the chair will include undertaking original research, teaching and supervision at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels, as well as administrative duties. The successful candidate is expected to actively seek external research funding.

Qualification requirements
To qualify for appointment as a professor, candidates must demonstrate both academic and teaching skills in accordance with the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance Chapter 4 § 3, and otherwise meet the requirements of Lund University's rules and regulations for academic appointments. Pedagogical qualifications include training in teaching and learning in higher education, pedagogical experience and pedagogical skills.

In addition to the general requirements specified above, further specifications for qualifying as a professor in the subject area include:

  • Doctorate in Business Administration / Entrepreneurship
  • Published research on social entrepreneurship in internationally ranked journals
  • Experience of action research, and related activities in social entrepreneurship
  • Experience gathering original data and using data in relevant empirical research settings
  • Experience as a reviewer for articles submitted to highly ranked international journals
  • Ability to make research available to a wider audience and to cooperate with the surrounding society
  • Substantial international experience
  • Pedagogical qualifications including experience from teaching at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels, in addition training in teaching and learning in higher education is required. Ability to teach both in English and Swedish is beneficial
  • Experience from advising PhD students in entrepreneurship
  • Ability to develop and publish educational material
  • Proven ability to attract external funding in the field of social entrepreneurship
  • Experience from academic leadership in order to lead and develop the area of entrepreneurship, especially social entrepreneurship at the School, including the ability to initiate and develop cooperation with research centers and other organizations in the field .

Assessment criteria
In addition to the qualification requirements presented above, particular emphasis will be given to the applicant who is most qualified in the field of social entrepreneurship. Consideration will be given to how the applicant through his/her experience and competence can be assessed to supplement and strengthen research and education at the Lund University School of Economics and Management.
