Research assistance on “The politics of state building” 

The research project “The politics of state building: Studying investments in state capacity through legislative debates” at Lund University (Sweden) is looking for a research assistant to support with the following tasks:
1. Web scraping and pre-processing of digitalized parliamentary debates for automated text analysis
2. Data collection based on archival and secondary sources
3. Website construction and updating
4. Other administrative tasks

Essential requirements:
• MA or equivalent degree in the social sciences
• Experience with web scraping and text mining techniques
• Proficiency in R or Python
• Fluency in English (fluency in Swedish, Finnish or Dutch are additional assets)
• Reliability, ability to meet deadlines and to solve problems independently

What we offer:
• This is a temporary full-time position (100%) for one year or by agreement; ideal starting date January 17, 2022
• Flexible hours, with work space available at the Department of Political Science, Lund University
