Summer worker Beamline Office - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Beamline Office is a group within the Science Division at MAX IV, comprising three teams that address different tasks and responsibilities. We are looking for two summer workers who will take place in the teams that provide lab-wide support for sample environments and the team for x-ray optics used at the beamlines. The work focuses on assembling and testing two devices: A sintering furnace for 3D-printed material and a plasma source for cleaning optical surfaces.

Your main tasks will be

• Assembly and testing of a high-temperature sintering furnace.
• Assembly and testing of an RF-plasma source for optics cleaning.

To be successful in either of these roles, you need to have the following qualifications

• At least second-year Physics or Engineering
• An interest in engineering or x-ray science/technology.
• High school level, computer, and technical interest.

Experience and knowledge below are seen as merits

• Experience with electronic hardware and understanding safety-compliance rules.
• Knowledge in additive manufacturing.
• Knowledge of radio-frequency (RF) plasma generation.
• Experience with high vacuum systems

As a person you are organized, take the initiative, and enjoy being 'hands-on.' You must be a minimum of 18 years old and fluent in English to apply to this position.
