Qualifications
The applicant should have a good knowledge of mathematical analysis (especially harmonic analysis, functional analysis, operator theory, and complex analysis), good analytical problem solving skills, and the ability to work independently.

Good knowledge of spoken and written English is also a requirement.

Meriting capacities are the ability to take initiative, cooperative skills, and perseverance.

Job assignments
The research area will be harmonic analysis, with connections to the theory of analytic function spaces and particular emhasis of the vector-valued setting. This will involve methods from functional analysis, operator theory, and complex analysis, as well as harmonic analysis techniques.

The position covers four years of postgraduate studies (research and course work) and up to 20 % of departmental duties, mainly teaching of mathematics.

Eligibility
The basic requirements for admission to postgraduate studies are: a degree at advanced (MSc) level, completed courses equivalent to at least 240 credits, of which 60 must be at advanced (MSc) level, or the equivalent knowledge or qualifications obtained in some other way, in Sweden or in another country.

The special requirements for admission to postgraduate studies in mathematics are completed courses in mathematics equivalent to at least 120 credits, of which 50 must be at advanced (MSc) level. The courses at basic and advanced level should include a degree project corresponding to at least 30 credits. Special eligibility may be obtained through equivalent studies; this will be assessed in each case.

Basis of Assessment
The assessment is in the first place based on the knowledge and abilities relevant för the dissertation work and the subject. In addition we assess the ability to work independently and the other areas of competence mentioned under qualifications.
