Duties

The holder of the position is expected to contribute as a project assistant to the following project:

 “Global innovation networks, regional variety and its impact on the innovativeness of firms and regions: The IT and new media industry in Sweden and in a global comparative perspective”

More specifically the holder of the position will be doing data collection (through surveys and interviews) on IT and New Media companies in Skåne. The holder of the position will be working directly with the PI of the project and will be involved in data analysis using social network analysis as well as publications.

 

Qualifications/Eligibility

To be eligible for the position the applicant must have a bachelor or Master experience in one or several of the relevant research areas. Of particular interest are candidates with background in innovation studies, economic geography or international business.

In the assessment of the applicants, special importance will be given to academic qualifications in research on global production and innovation networks, Global sourcing of knowledge and technology and regional variety and regional innovation systems.

Core competence in one of these areas is required and the sub-fields are considered equally important. Preference will be given to applicants with competence and interest in more than one of these sub-fields.

The following criteria will constitute the basis for the assessment of applicants for the position: Documented ability to develop and conduct research of high quality

Considering the research project to which this position is linked, research experience with data collection and analysis will be highly valued. Knowledge of social network analysis and/or econometric analysis will be considered a merit. Prior knowledge of the IT and New Media and the Game Industry will be considered a merit.
