Post-doctoral position in Transport and Roads, focussing sustainable urban mobility and accessibility

Lund University, Department of Technology and Society, Division of Transport and Roads, conducts research and provides higher education within the field of transport planning. The strong focus on sustainable and attractive urban regions contains aspects of safety for vulnerable road users, mobility for persons with special needs, and the design of sustainable transport solutions and infrastructure for collective and/or non-motorized modes. In order to strengthen our division, we offer a post-doctoral position.

This research position is intended to address interlinkages between transport, land-use planning and implications for vulnerable and marginalized groups. The expected approach is quantitative, requiring knowledge in transport modelling, accessibility analysis, GIS and open data sources. The theoretical framework should contain transport economics (traditional as well as alternative, justice-oriented approaches) and transport equity analytics.

We are looking for an early stage researcher with a solid background in transport planning and analysis with great interest in accessibility analysis on a macro level scale. We foresee a person who is interested in trying out alternative methods and proposing innovative theories aimed at further developing the research field.
