LTH announces a post-doctoral position for research with a focus on interdisciplinary studies of fossil free steelmaking, industrial policy, and international climate policy after the Paris agreement.

The position is placed at the Department of Technology and Society, the Division for Environmental and Energy Systems Studies (IMES), LTH. IMES is an interdisciplinary division with research and education in the closely interlinked spheres of energy, environment, technology, economy, security, and sustainable development.

The position is funded through the HYBRIT project ”Fossil free steel making” that started with a research project (RP1) and now followed by a pilot project, intended to lead to a full size demonstration and commercialisation of fossil free steel making by 2030-2040[1]. The research will be carried out in close cooperation with other researchers at Lund University, Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and the consortium HYBRIT Development AB.

In HYBRIT RP1, we analyse pathways for making fossil free steelmaking a reality within the coming 20 to 35 years. The research project HYBRIT RP1 consists of 5 technical working packages (WP 1 to 5) developing technological specific solutions and one working package (WP 6) that explores the concepts from a systemic policy view. The post-doc will be placed and work within WP 6 in Lund.
