The Scheding lab is one of the interationally leading groups in human stroma stem cell biology and acoustic trapping of stroma extracellular vesicles. An excellent researcher is required to drive parts of the program which is financed by SSF and others.
Job Assignments
Perform independently advanced laboratory techniques such as acoustic trapping of exosomes, single cell FACS sorting, molecular techniques including single cells multiplex PCR analysis by Fluidigm, stroma culture techniques including MSC isolation, propagation,and functional differentiation assays. Microscopic analysis including scanning cytometry and confocal microscopy. Design and analyze experiments, write publications for submission to leading journals, supervise PhD students and technicians.
Qualifications
This position requires a PhD degree in biology, molecular biology, medical technology or a related area. Due to the high scientific and technical demands of this research, at least 5 years laboratory experience in molecular biology, cell biology and immunology are required. The applicant has to be competent to conduct hands-on laboratory research, mastering techniques used in molecular biology, cell biology and immunology and to be able to independently handle research projects, review literature, interpret scientific data, troubleshoot the laboratory problems, write protocols and publications, draw research direction. Furthermore, at least 2 years experience one of the leading laboratories in human bone marrow stroma cell biology are absolutely required as well as the mastery of advanced techniques such as acoustic trapping of extracellular vesicles. FACS analysis, advanced molecular techniques including Fluidigm, MSC isolation, culture and characterisation techniques in vitro as well as in vivo. Furthermore, the candidate has to show team player properties and needs to fit into the existing research group.
