Transport and Roads is one of three divisions of the Department of Technology and Society. Our innovative, multi-disciplinary research and teaching are internationally recognised, covering topics ranging from traffic safety, intelligent vehicles and automatic vehicle recognition, accessibility for older and disabled people, public transport, to sustainable urban development.

Work duties
The project assistant will work in a number of research projects on road safety during autumn 2018-spring 2019. The work will include field data collection such as observations of behaviour in traffic, interviews with road users, analyses of video recordings and traffic conflict studies from video. The project assistant is also expected to actively contribute to the discussions on practical planning of the studies and analyses of the results.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master-level diploma in Civil Engineering with specialisation in traffic or urban planning.
  • Knowledge: fluent communication in English, spoken and written.
  • Competences: confident independent use of MS Word & Excel, ArcGIS.

Other merits

  • Training: Certified Traffic Conflict Observer according to the Swedish TCT methodology.
  • Working experience: earlier experience of making behavioural and traffic conflict studies from video.

Terms of employment
Temporary employment (100%), about 1 year, with possibilities to extension. Start from 17th September 2018 or as agreed.
