Work duties
The position connects to the division’s research on wood and bio-based materials and concern work in a project on modified wood. Acetylation is a chemical modification that increase the resistance against fungal degradation, but the mechanism behind is not fully understood. An important factor is however that the moisture content of the wood is lowered. In this project, the influence of acetylation on the interaction between wood and water will be studied with focus on high moisture levels.
