The Biological Museum at Lund University is among the largest research collections in Sweden. It is divided into three units, the herbarium, the general zoology collections and the entomological collections. The general zoology collections are divided into two major parts, dry collections (with bird and mammal skins, mounted specimens, shells, subfossils, etc) and wet collections (with ethanol preserved marine invertebrates, fish, terrestrial organisms, etc). The wet collections contain several important collections, including yearly samples of the benthic fauna in the Öresund Straits outside the city of Helsingborg starting in the year 1842, as well as collections further up north along the coast of Halland and Bohuslän.

Job description
The successful candidate will mainly work in the wet collections in the general zoology unit. Duties will include curating and sorting the collections, general maintenance of the wet collections, registration of samples in databases, as well as other tasks related to maintaining the general zoology collections. The position does not include research.

Required qualifications
The successful candidate is required to have at least a Master’s degree in a discipline of biology relevant to the collections (e.g. zoology, marine biology, organismal biology, systematics, etc), as well as documented experience with working with collections. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and in a team, and will be ready to take up the challenges related to unsorted material collected over long periods of time. Species level knowledge of a group or groups of marine invertebrates is desired. Familiarity with wet collections and their maintenance is seen positively, as is familiarity with databasing and specimen registration. A driver's licence is desirable.
