Research assistants for civil society studies and civil society elites (social work, political science and sociology) (at least three).

Research assistants will take part in a research program at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The program investigates civil society elites and includes studies in four European countries (Sweden, Poland, Italy and the UK) and at the EU.

The program will investigate questions on the qualities, values and networks associated with leaders of large civil society organizations (foundations, NGOs, advocacy groups, think tanks and similar), how such leadership groups are reproduced, how they interact or integrate with other leadership groups and how they are being challenged.

The program is funded by the Swedish Foundation for Humanities and Social Sciences (Riksbankens Jubileumsfond) and engages researchers from the disciplines of social work, sociology and political science at Lund University, sharing expertise and interest into civil society research and elite studies.

The program is led by Professor Håkan Johansson, professor at the School of Social Work.

Work tasks

We are seeking research assistants that can be engaged in the initial stage of the program. Research assistants will be employed to participate in literature reviews, reviews of existing research and participation in basic data collection, for instance through pilot studies or similar.

Qualifications

At least bachelor exam in social work, political science and sociology, or other disciplines of relevance for the general orientation of the research program.

Proven analytical skills and experience with regard to civil society and/or elite studies.

Language skills in English is required for all positions and skills in Italian recommended for one of the positions.
