The FACS Core Facility at Lunds Stem Cell Center is run by two full time employees and offers services, like cell sorting, to around 50 different research groups. As one research engineer leaves in the middle of October, this position is announced to recruit a project manager to meet the needs of the growing demands of the facility.

Job assignments:

  • Supervise and distribute the work within the facility
  • Develop the facility for future needs, take active part in the development and progress made within the area and implement new knowledge of interest for the users of the facility.
  • Take an active part in educating new users and hold courses within the field
  • Consultation of experimental designs, assist and perform advanced cell sorting as well as assist in data analysis.
  • Responsible for maintaining good upkeep of machines within the facility, ensure service and repair as well as negotiate service contracts when needed.
  • Maintenance and update of data storage, homepage, booking system, programs and servers associated with the facility. This also includes backup and storage of data according to facility policy.
  • Responsible for ordering of material for the facility and invoicing of facility services

Qualifications required:

  • Applicant should hold a master degree in relevant area.
  • Applicant should have many years of experience working with FACS and be able to perform complicated cell sorting and analysis and should have experience with different types of FACS machines.
  • Applicant should have at least 3 years documented experience of work within a FACS core Facility
  • Applicant should possess necessary technical knowledge about cell sorters and analyzers.
  • Applicant should have computer knowledge to maintain and update data storage homepage, booking system, programs and servers associated with the facility. This also includes backup and storage of data according to facility policy.
  • Applicant should have very good oral and written English

  • Priorty if the applicant has experience in management and if the applicant has worked within a similar academic institution
  • Priority if good contact with leading providers of FACS machines
  • Priorty if the applicant has experience in training new users within the FACS area.
  • Priorty if applicant has experience of budget management.
