Research engineer - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The division of translational cancer research and the research group led by Alexander Pietras is looking for a research engineer.

Work duties
The successful candidate is expected to independently develop and maintain the group's methods, including animal models. You will both work on your own projects but also help others with their projects within the framework of the group's research interests with a particular focus on brain tumor glioma. There will also be some guidance of PhD students and students in the research group. One of the major tasks is to be responsible for parts of the laboratory's daily care / routines.

Qualifications

We seek you who have a PhD in the relevant field, and you also need a well-documented expertise and experience in molecular and cellular signaling. To be successful you will need knowledge in general tumor biology preferably with a focus on stem cell biology.

Do you also have an extensive experience of working with mice in cancer research - especially the RCAS / TV-a system for brain tumor studies, that will be very advantageous. You also need to have knowledge on how to do isolation and maintenance of primary human and mouse cell cultures.

Particular emphasis will be placed on academic skills, especially demonstrated expertise in relevant methodologies and subject areas. In addition, we are looking for you who have a good communication skills. We will look very much at the personal suitability of the work.
