In the project "Dysregulated inflammation and lung injury" we will characterize mechanisms causing lung injury during both systemic and local inflammation in the airways. Intervention will be performed using novel small molecular compounds as well as determining the importance of key molecules of the immune system. The disease models used will reflect ARDS, COPD, and asthma.

We can offer a stimulating environment with access to state of the art techniques including Bioplex, multi-channel Q-PCR, and surface plasmon resonance. In addition, we are a network of several interacting research groups, sharing techniques and instruments as well as having regular seminars

Work duties

Both in vitro and in vivo models of airway inflammation are used. The work will include design and planning of studies, performing experiments, analyzing and compiling data, and writing manuscripts. In addition, supervision of students and giving research seminars will be included.
