Work duties

The assistant researcher will be involved in various projects using transgenic animals to study the innate and adaptive immune responses in the M. marinum and GAS infection models. The aim is the identification of primary cellular targets for the above pathogens using state of the art flow cytometry, cell sorting and single cell RNA sequencing techniques. Within the different projects the assistant researcher will supervise and assist PhD students and Postdocs in planning and performance of their studies.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • PhD in Immunology
  • Several years of Postdoctoral experience in Immunology
  • Experience in supervision of PhD students and Postdocs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Merits

  • Practical experience from working in BSL2 and BSL3[TJ1] facilities
  • Practical experience in working with bacterial pathogens, especially Mycobacteria
  • Practical experience from working with in vivo infection models
  • Expertise in T cell, dendritic cell and phagocyte biology including relevant in vivo and in vitro models
  • Practical experience from a range of immunological techniqes, especially advanced multicolour-flowcytometry and cell sorting
  • Practical experience from maintaining mouse colonies, including transgenic mouse colonies.
