SASNET is an interdisciplinary network for the production and dissemination of research, education, and information about South Asia (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka). SASNET produces and disseminates knowledge and research about South Asia in three principal ways. First, SASNET produces knowledge about South Asia through research, seminars, workshops, and conferences. Second, SASNET supports research, seminars, and international collaborations at Lund University. Third. SASNET collaborates with Swedish and Nordic universities that have a strong focus on South Asia.  In addition, SASNET supports the South Asian Student Association (SASA), which is a platform for educational and cultural exchange between students at Lund University. 

Duties:
The duties as a student assistant (amanuens) will consist of running the student organization South Asian Students Association (SASA). The work also involves planning seminars or other events for members of the organization. The student assistant is also responsible for managing communication about SASA. The student assistant will also assist in managing the communication at SASNET. This work is performed in cooperation with the manager.

Qualifications:
To be qualified for the position you need to be a student at Bachelor or Master’s level with an international focus. A special interest in South Asia is a plus and since SASNET is an international work environment, you need to be proficient in both written and spoken English.
