Lund University was founded in 1666 and is repeatedly ranked among the world’s top universities. The University has around 47 000 students and more than 8 800 staff based in Lund, Helsingborg and Malmö. We are united in our efforts to understand, explain and improve our world and the human condition.

Lund University welcomes applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We regard gender equality and diversity as a strength and an asset.

In the lab of Joan Yuan at the Division of Molecular Hematology, we are interested in the molecular basis for the developmental switch in hematopoietic output which results in a decreased rate of self-renewing cell divisions within the hematopoietic stem cell compartment as well as changes in the qualitative output in B cell subsets. Central to this developmental switch is the downregulation of the RNA-binding protein Lin28b. In this project, we aim to elucidate the molecular mechanisms by which Lin28b confers its fetal like effects on HSCs and control downstream cell fate choices.
