Duties

The work will involve managing the purchase of computers, installing new computers and various software, taking care of support tasks, promoting high IT security, working with systems / networks / backup, participating in meetings concerning IT issues at Lund University and also stay updated on developments in the IT area. Documentation and training for users is a natural part of the work. Other IT-related tasks may occur.

The work is primarily done during office hours, but can also occur during evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has post-high school/upper secondary school education in the field of IT and who has worked in the field for a few years. We expect that you have a broad, basic technical knowledge and experience of solving incoming tasks in an independent manner. Since we operate in an international environment, you must be able to express yourself unhindered in both Swedish and English, in speech and writing. If you do not speak Swedish, you are required to learn Swedish within the first two years of your employment.

You should have good knowledge of and experience from several of the following areas:

  • Computer hardware
  • Windows 10/7
  • Linux variants
  • OS X
  • Web servers / NFS / file servers / NIS / backup
  • Programming and scripting eg. Bash, Python, PHP, C
  • Network and security

This requires that you have a good ability to structure and prioritize your tasks while you at the same time are passionate about service and are responsive to the needs of the users. You are driven by efficiently and purposefully managing daily routines and you must be able to handle stressful periods. You enjoy meeting people in your everyday life.

Knowledge about research activities is an advantage.

Terms

Permanent employment, 100%, with start as soon as possible. A probationary period may be applied.
