Substitute Senior Lecturer in Mathematics (fixed term) - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

This position is a fixed term substitute postion whilst recruiting a permanent Senior Lecturer in Mathematics (PA2019/342)

Work duties

The work duties consist of teaching in the first cycle of studies in mathematics for the engineering programmes at LTH. The work duties include course coordination, teaching, assessment and teaching administration.

Qualification requirements

Appointment to senior lecturer requires that the applicant has

• A PhD or corresponding research competence or professional expertise considered important with regard to the subject matter of the post and the work duties it will involve.
• Demonstrated teaching expertise.
• Completed five weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning, or acquired equivalent knowledge by other means, unless there are valid reasons.

Additional requirements

• Good oral and written proficiency in Swedish and English.

Assessment criteria

For appointment to temporary senior lecturer, the following shall form the assessment criteria

• Good subject skills of relevance for the position and the related work duties.
• Good teaching ability. The assessment of the pedagogical skills will be based on documented achievements teaching first, second and third cycles of studies, a good understanding of learning processes as well as good abilities to lead, stimulate and cooperate with teachers and students.
• An ability to collaborate with wider society and communicate his or her activities.

Consideration will also be given to ability to cooperate, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing education and innovation within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.

Terms of employment

This is a full-time, temporary (fixed term) employment for 6 months. If the appointment of the senior lecturer takes longer than 6 months, then a prolongation of the temporary position may be considered. Start 1 August 2019, or according to an agreement with the department.
