Researcher in Machine Learning for Wireless Communication

Project description

The position is within the ICARUS (Intelligent Cell-free Access for wiReless Ubiquitous Services) project - a cross-disciplinary joint project between the Communication Systems Department at Linköping University and the Automatic Control Department at Lund University. The project objective is to develop algorithms for efficient resource allocation in the next generation wireless communication networks. This particular position will have a key role in the collaboration between the groups. Therefore, it requires proficiency in wireless communication and knowledge of tools from optimization and machine learning needed to achieve the project goals.

Work duties

  • Cross-disciplinary research within the project – primarily to apply optimization and machine learning techniques to problems in wireless communication
  • Opportunity for teaching in the first, second and third cycles of studies
  • Opportunity for training in higher education teaching and learning shall be given if teaching is part of the work duties.
  • Opportunity for supervision of degree projects and doctoral students
  • Collaboration with industry and wider society

Qualification requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A PhD or equivalent research qualification within the subject of the project.
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
  • Participated in research projects in relevant subjects for position.

Assessment criteria and other qualifications

The cross-disciplinary focus of this position gives applicants with previous experience in wireless communication priority. Basic knowledge on large-scale optimization is also considered. Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the project and the department.

Fixed-term employment, 2 years, 100 % (temporary position)
