Background
ICOS (Integrated Carbon Observation System, https://www.icos-ri.eu/) is a European research infrastructure providing scientific data on carbon cycle and greenhouse gas budget. ICOS Carbon Portal (https://www.icos-cp.eu/) is the data center of ICOS, and is hosted by Lund University at the Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science (http://www.nateko.lu.se/). In parallel to providing web services for archival and dissemination of  ICOS data, including upload, storage, long-term preservation, search, visualization, and download, Carbon Portal is also concerned with ensuring that ICOS research data management conforms to the FAIR principles.

Job Assignment
ICOS Carbon Portal at Lund University is looking for a project assistant who will work on education and training in the framework of the ENVRI-FAIR project (ENVironmental Research Infrastructures building Fair services Accessible for society, Innovation and Research; H2020, 2019-2022). In this project, 13 European Research Infrastructures (RIs) work together to apply the FAIR principles  (https://www.force11.org/group/fairgroup/fairprinciples) to their data services. ICOS Carbon Portal is leading the work package on training and skills development. Your main tasks in this project will be to inventory training needs within ENVRI-FAIR, to develop new teaching materials related to the conceptual and technological implementation of FAIR research data management, for both classroom teaching and e-learning platforms, as well as to lead related training activities on the application of FAIR principles for future research data management.

Qualifications
You have a relevant professional or academic degree in Environmental or Earth Science at the bachelor level or equivalent and preferably at least 1-2 year experience with teaching at college or university level. Prior experience with research data management and related concepts is highly recommended. You are fluent in spoken and written English, and are comfortable with leading meetings and presenting in front of groups. You must also be able to travel frequently, mostly within Europe.

Merits
Experience with developing training materials, for example compendia, instructional videos and wiki pages
Documented experience with teaching at post-gymnasial level
Knowledge of administrating educational web portals (recommended).
Knowledge, proven experience and affinity with the FAIR principles (https://www.force11.org/group/fairgroup/fairprinciples) and their implications for Open Science
Documented proficiency of collaborating in groups.

Permanent position full-time. Probationary period of six months may be applied.
