Post-doctor for the project “VDAC1 a common denominator of β-cell and endothelial cell dysfunction inT2D with its complications

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position on the above mentioned project. The post holder will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.

The project work includes identification of mitochondrial voltage dependent-anion channel (VDAC) expression and cellular localization in beta cells, kidney cells and endothelial cells, in cell lines as well as tissues from non-diabetic and diabetic organ donors.

 

Qualification aquirements

PhD degree obtained no earlier than three years before the application deadline. This period could be extended on legally valid reasons.

Particular importance is given to scientific excellence in the subject field. In addition, particular emphasis will be given to laboratory experience in the relevant field. Additionally, prior experience of molecular and cell biological methods such as qtPCR, Western blots and confocal immune-fluorescent microscopy is required. The applicant should have practical experience of conducting independent in vitro cell culture studies. Experience bioinformatics is an advantage.

The successful candidate is expected to stay updated on the progress of research within the field. The ability to cooperate with colleagues and taking initiatives, accuracy as well as flexibility are also an advantage.

Terms of employment

This is a full-time, fixed term employment of 12+12 months.
