As part of the Information Management Systems team at MAX IV you will be in a unique position to help the scientific community collect research data, make data available to researchers world-wide and make an impact on how information is managed within the research environment.
 
MAX IV is open to scientist from all over the world who apply online for the opportunity to conduct experiments at MAX IV, so called “beam time”. This is done through our present User Office System. This system also handles great amounts of data produced in the experiments and makes it available to the scientist to collect and analyse afterwards.
 
The Information Management Systems team is now developing a new User Office System. To support this work, we are looking for a Software Engineer with excellent web designer skills and with a passion for learning new technologies.
 
Job description
You will work with development and maintenance of web tools from end-to-end and will have opportunity to work with all parts of the process. You will also assist other parts of MAX IV with their IT needs, as well as representing the team in various forums internally and externally. There are many new projects in pipe-line which you will be involved in. Our team has a broad skill set and considerable opportunity to learn and grow, both as a professional and as an individual.
 
Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Several years of experience as a professional full stack developer
  • Experience with databases and sql
  • Experience with Linux
  • Strong communication skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Ability to work both in team and individually

 
Desirable

  • Experience in Nodejs, Javascript, Typescript, ES6, React, MongoDB, PostgreSQL
  • Experience in GraphQL, REST
  • Experience with Docker, Ansible, git, Continuous Integration, Agile
