Project description
The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) recently gave the Biology Department, Lund University the task of being data hosts for national and regional monitoring data concerning birds and butterflies. This means taking care of, structure, store and eventually publically present data that is collected within national and regional monitoring schemes. This task will be performed in close cooperation with SEPA, all the County Administrative Boards (Länsstyrelser) and other hosts of environmental monitoring data. The task will also be done in close cooperation with researchers and technicians involved in a similar project concerning research data (BAS, Biodiversity Atlas Sweden).
The task of being a host for bird and butterfly monitoring data is very closely connected to the monitoring schemes The Swedish Bird Survey (SBS) and The Swedish Butterfly Monitoring Scheme. Both these are run by the Biology Department on behalf of SEPA and the County Administrative Boards. Hence, the work will be carried out together with the researchers that work with these schemes.
We are here announcing a permanent position as researcher at the Biology Department. We are looking for a person who has a PhD in biology. Apart from working with the data host tasks, also other research related tasks within SBS will be included.
