Work description

Experimental studies of the dynamics and structure of the upper layer of the skin, the stratum corneum using solid state and diffusion NMR, scattering methods and sorption methods. The aim is to understand how water and other molecules affect the stratum corneum lipids and proteins, and how this in turn influence the transport properties of the skin. The project includes experimental studies of the stratum corneum and its constituents. Parts of the project take place in collaboration with researchers in dermatology.

Qualifications

Background in physical chemistry, material science, biophysics or equivalent. Experience of NMR and scattering methods as well as knowledge in Matlab is a great advantage. Excellent English (understanding, speaking and writing) is a prerequisite, as well as good knowledge in presenting and communicating research results to others. You must also be able to work in a team and collaborate with researchers from different areas. Documented experience of interdisciplinary research projects and / or collaborations with the industry is an advantage.
