Subject description
Formulation is how to combine different ingredients to obtain a product with desired properties. In order to do this, an understanding of how ingredients interact in the product and how to characterize key features of the formulation and ingredients is of importance. Scientifically, formulation technology is practiced at the Department of Food Technology engineering and nutrition and has its base in applied surface and colloidal chemistry.

Work duties
The Departement of Food Technology is looking for one or two researchers, 20%. The main part of the employment will be on a medical company. The main duties involved in a researcher position is to conduct research up to no more than 20% of  a full position. If the position inludes teaching, the position migth include the opportunity for training in higher education teaching and learning. Primaraly the current position and the research project will be part of a close cooperation with a medical company. The tasks therefore include active cooperation with the company and independently running the post doc project.

  • Supervision of degree projects and doctoral students
  • Collaboration with industry and a wider society
  • Administration related to the work duties listed above

Qualification requirements
Appointment to a researcher position requires that the applicant has a PhD, within the subject of the position.

Additional requirements:

  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
  • Be able to work well in an industry based project
  • High ability to independently run a research project

Other qualifications
This is a career development position primarily focused on research. The position is intended as an initial step in a career, and the assessment of the applicants will primarily be based on their research qualifications and potential as researchers. Particular emphasis will be placed on research skills within the subject.

  • Experience in working in project form
  • Experience of working with industrial issues

Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.

Terms of employment
This is a full-time, fixed-term employment of a maximum of 2 years, 20%.
