Tasks

We are looking for a project assistant for the project “Sweden’s position in Global Value Chains”. The research assistant will be involved in the collection of primary data from balance sheets on the global activities of Swedish multinational companies, such as global sales, levels of R&D expenditures, patents and trademarks statistics. Additionally the project assistant may be involved in contributing to writing policy-reports related to the project.

The qualifications needed are the following:

- Completed bachelor degree in Economics and Business or in one of the fields of Social sciences.

- Ability to work with Excel

- Ability to work and communicate in English

Other merits are:

- Previous experience of collection of primary data about the international activities of multinational companies

- Previous work experience in the field of policy-making

- Ability to read balance sheet data

- Ability in writing policy-oriented type of papers.

- Ability to work with statistical software programmes such as Stata

- Knowledge of the academic literature on innovation studies and global value chains

- Interest in policy-related economic issues

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, motivation and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen the administrative work within Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship and the Department of Business Administration, as well as contribute to its future development.
