Research engineering with a focus on food process engineering for recovery and utilization of plant-based proteins 

Work duties The main duties of this position as research engineer is to conduct and support research within the projects “recovery of plant proteins for novel food products” and “sustainable food process engineering”.

Other work duties include the following:

  • Laboratory work in food chemistry, technology, and microbiology
  • Carry out measurements and analyses for researchers and external clients
  • Development of methods
  • Co-ordinating and executing lab and pilot-scale trials
  • Data management
  • Collaboration with industry and wider society
  • Teaching may also be included.
  • Administration related to the work duties listed above.

Qualifications

  • MSc in Biotechnology, Environmental or Chemical Engineering, or similar.
  • Experience in setting up/performing analysis such as (protein content, water content, etc.)
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in Swedish.
  • Good oral and written proficiency in English.
  • Driver’s license (type B).
  • Experience of process engineering, environmental engineering and protein chemistry.
  • Experience in okara and industrial hemp processing.

Other merits

  • Experience in working on the pilot scale in food processes.
  • Experience in the use of analytical instruments.

Terms of employment Temporary employment, 100 %, until 15 January 2021.
