In the Medicinal Structural Biology group we now seek a full-time research engineer that for a period of 6 moths will help us with an ongoing research project. Start in December

Work duties

The candidate will be performing site directed mutagenesis and ligation independent cloning of lipases followed by expression in E. Coli, purification, characterization and crystallization in complex with ligands.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Candidate must hold a M.Sc. in Biochemistry, biomedicine or similar before starting
  • Documented knowledge of protein structures and their determination.
  • Documented experience with protein expression and purification using affinity and size exclusion chromatography using FPLC systems (Akta)
  • Documented experience with enzyme assays
  • Documented experience with basic crystallization techniques
  • Fluency in English

Desirable

  • Experience with site directed mutagenesis and ligation independent cloning
  • Experience with CCP4 and Phenix
  • Experience with lipases and their function
