The division of molecular medicine and gene therapy are now recruiting a Postdoctor that will work with various research projects during 2 years. The division focuses on hematology, hematopoiesis, the regulation of hematopoietic stem cells and the development of cell and gene therapy for blood disorders. The position is time limited to 2 years with a start in January or in accordance with agreement.
Work duties and areas of responsibility
The position contains work on the development of gene therapy for Diamond blackfan anemia, a bone marrow failure syndrome. Lentiviral vectors containing the ribosomal protein S19 (RPS19) will be used to correct the genetic deficiency of RPS19 in a mouse model. The goal is to cure the disease in mice using vectors that can later be used in the clinic to cure patients with RPS19 deficient Diamond Blackfan anemia.
