Lund University announces a temporary position until 2021-12-23 as a Research Fellow at the postdoctoral level in language acquisition with a specialization in measuring input and studying input effects on language development, 100% (1.0), at Lund University Humanities Lab, Lund University.

Language acquisition is a strong research environment at Lund University with researchers coming from different subjects and specializations. Research in the acquisition group covers different aspects of language acquisition, such as L1, L2, bilingual and L3 acquisition, attrition, processing, impairment, didactics, methodology, and language planning.

The fellowship is part of the research project The LANG-TRACK-APP funded by the Marcus and Amalia Wallenberg Foundation with Principal Investigators Jonas Granfeldt and Marianne Gullberg. The tasks will include both designing and coordinating parts of the project, involving the constructions of a smartphone application to study language input together with application developers, collecting input and acquisition data in different languages, analysing the data using statistical analyses (e.g., multi-level modelling), and preparing findings for dissemination at conferences and in scientific journal articles.

Applicants must have a completed PhD degree in linguistics, psycholinguistics, applied linguistics, or a related discipline. The successful applicant must a have documented background in language acquisition research and in advanced statistical analyses of quantitative data. The applicant must have a strong command of English and at least one of the languages to be investigated (Swedish, French, Spanish, German). Programming skills are a bonus.
