Lund University announces at least one position as doctoral student in informatics, specialising in “eHealth”. The position is a full time position and is placed at the Department of Informatics, Lund School of Economics and Management, Lund University.
At the Department of informatics there is pioneering research and business collaboration. We have an attractive undergraduate education providing our students advantageous academic degrees for working life or postgraduate education. We coordinate the system science graduate program at the School of Economics, and offer independent courses and the international masters program in information systems.
Assigned duties
Those appointed to doctoral studentship shall primarily devote themselves to their studies, aimed to result in a doctoral degree. Work carried out during the studentship consists of participation in research projects as well as successful participation in postgraduate (third-cycle) courses. Those appointed to doctoral studentships may also work, to a limited extent, with educational tasks and administration at the Department of informatics. However, duties of this kind may not comprise of more than 20 per cent of a full time post.
The department needs to strengthen research and education in "eHealth / mHealth" defined as design, development, implementation and evaluation of information systems and digital transformation in areas such as Decision Support, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security, Sustainability or Decision Management to support individuals, groups and organizations in their decision-making and work processes related to health care.

A person meets the general admission requirements for third-cycle courses and study programmes if he or she has:

Other requirements
Good knowledge of English and Swedish, in speech and writing, is a requirement.
Basis of assessment
Admittance of a doctoral student is based on an assessment of the candidate’s ability to benefit from third-cycle studies.
The applicant’s ability to benefit from third-cycle studies and research will be assessed with reference to credits rewarded at first-cycle studies and second-cycle studies.

Consideration will also be given to personal suitability as well är how the candidate with his or her experiences and competence is expected to benefit from third-cycle studies.
The Department of informatics is a small department, why collegial interaction and the individual's efforts are of great importance. An important element of the employment will therefore be to be structured, self-sufficient, initiatative, assiduous and have a good ability to co-operate. Another important element of the employment is to actively participate in the department's work with applying for external funds and in the work of the teaching and research body for further developing the department.

Terms of employment
Fixed-term employment, maximum four years (fulltime studies).
Only those admitted to third-cycle courses and study programmes at a higher education may be appointed to doctoral student.
