The research group
In the research group for Cell reprogramming in hematopoiesis and immunity, research is conducted to understand the molecular determinants underlying cellular reprogramming and hematopoietic specification. Research has been at the forefront in this area for several years. The group is led by Professor Filipe Pereira and consists of both research and technical staff. We are hereby seeking a driven associate researcher to work with the group on reprogramming of cells, hematopoiesis and developing immunotherapeutic strategies for cells and genes. The employment is limited to two years of 50% with the desired date of admission on 15 February or by agreement.
Work duties and areas of responsibility
As associate researcher within the research group you are responsible for work on the development of a novel strategy for the reprogramming of fibroblasts into functional antigen presenting dendritic cells. The goal is to provide support for the development of novel cell and gene therapies for cancer and viral infections. The successful candidate will be performing lentiviral productions, transcriptional and epigenetic profiling experiments and detailed functional characterization of reprogrammed cells. These will be followed by in vivo experimentation in mouse tumor models. The candidate will also develop the drug development strategy for the translation of the technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging and maintaining collaborations, general laboratory organization as well writing scientific publications and grant applications.
