The research group
You will be working in a research group focused on the biology of the red blood cell, particularly blood group genetics and erythropoiesis. The group is physically located at the Biomedical center (BMC) in Lund at the Division of hematology and transfusion medicine, Dept. of Laboratory Medicine. The research group is led by Professor Martin L Olsson, an internationally renowned and awarded translational scientist in the blood group field. He is currently also Vice Dean at the faculty, responsible for research infrastructure. Click here to read more about our exciting research.
Within the research group, we safeguard a workplace that is experienced as evolving and stimulating for all employees.
We are now seeking a postdoctoral fellow within erythropoiesis who will become part of an exciting field in rapid development and be a member of a growing research group working to answer fundamental questions on our most common cell, the red blood cell. The team consists of approx. 15 members who will become your closest colleagues. The employment is full-time for two years according to a central agreement on a fixed-term employment as a postdoc. The desired date of admission is Febuary 1:st or by agreement.
Work duties and area of responsibility
In your role you will be expected to initiate and drive your own research projects, in close contact with the principal investigator and other team members or collaboration partners. In addition, you are expected to help guide students and co-supervise junior members of the group.
