Subject description
A position is available in evolutionary genetics of Drosophila, with a specific focus on sexual antagonism, sex chromosome evolution, and experimental evolution.
Work duties
- Maintenance of fly populations
- Design and analysis of experiments using existing experimental evolution lines
- Some genomic analysis of expression data
- Supervision of bachelor and master’s students
Qualification requirements
Applicants must have:
- A PhD or equivalent research qualification within the subject of the position
- Very good oral and written proficiency in English
- Experience with Drosophila culturing
- Experience with genomics and quantitative genetics
Assessment criteria and other qualifications
Experience with experimental evolution, sex chromosome evolution, and/or sexual antagonism are preferred.
Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.
Terms of employment
Fixed term employment. Length of employment, 12 months, with possible extention.
Scope: Full time.
