Programmer to the Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Lund University GIS Centre at the Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science is going to employ a programmer to support the development of technical programmes required for ongoing researches.

Work duties
Detailed description of the work duties are:
• Development of software programs
• Providing required supports for seeking external research funding
• Collaboration with industry and wider society, where needed
• Help with teaching courses, where programming skills are needed
• Administration related to the work duties listed above

Qualification requirements
Applicants must have:
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or any related education
• Experience in Python
• Experience in C# or Java
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
• Strong communication skills, fluent in English
• Skills of web programming is a big advantage
• Knowledge of machine learning is a big advantage

Assessment criteria and other qualifications
The assessment will be done based on the criteria mentioned in the qualifications requirements. Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.

Terms of employment
The employment is full time, 100%, for one year starting from 1 May 2020.
