The department of Political Science is looking to hire a project assistant, to be employed on a 40-60 % basis within the project Pathways to Breaking the Fossil Fuel Lock-In: Assessing the Influence of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals on Fossil Fuel Subsidy Reform. The project runs 2020-22 and assesses the pathways through which international environmental institutions, particularly the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals, influence domestic fossil fuel subsidy reforms. The position starts on 15 April 2020 and runs for four months. 

Competence
To be qualified, the applicant needs to hold a bachelor degree in Political Science, Sociology, Development Studies, Economics or similar, and have documented knowledge in data collection. Other competences relevant for the project subject or work tasks are also valued.

Work tasks
-Qualitative analysis: data collection of policy documents for the mapping of decisions to reform fossil fuel subsidies, and for case studies within the project. Furthermore, data collection concerning efforts to address fossil fuel subsidies within the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals.
-Quantitative analysis: data collection (especially from the OECD and similar data bases) and management.
-Possible administrative tasks.

Evaluation
The evaluation will be based on the experience of qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, as well as on knowledge of climate politics, comparative environmental politics and/or how international governance affects national decisions.
