Subject
Communications engineering

Subject description
Communications engineering for wireless systems is a wide subject area that spans design and analysis of cellular and wiereless communication systems and the sub-blocks therein. It concerns also the physical radio channel and the interaction between this, the antennas and the other parts of the radio system. Interaction between different sub-parts is essential in order to reach a well working and efficient cellular or wireless communication system. This position has a special focus on channel modelling, radio based positioning, massive MIMO, millimetre wave communication and wireless systems beyond 5G. The work includes systems below 6 GHz as well as systems at millimetre wave frequencies and above. Special emphasis will be on the interaction between different sub-areas and how they affect each other. The work is both of experimental and theoretical nature, and it is expected that the candidates have experience of both parts.
