Subject description
To use, update and develop a large demographic database with over 50 000 individuals with phenotypic data from the common bluetail damselfly (Ischnura elegans) and where the data has been collected the last 20 years, i. e. since the year 2000. Carry out statistical analyses and deliver reproducible code (R-scripts), and prepare publications of this material, in close communication with the project leader Erik Svensson.

Necessary requirements

  • We are looking for a coworker with a PhD in evolutionary biology and with strong analytical competence, in particular experience in programming in primarily the R-environment and experience in using databases.
  • Excellent language and communication skills, including fluency in writing and speaking English are necessary.
  • The person should be well familiar with theories about intralocus sexual conflict and the genomic consequences of such conflict, and have documented research experience in this area.
  • International experience outside Sweden and experience in presenting his/her results in front of a broad scientific audience as well as publications in leading evolutionary biology journals are other requirements.

Strong consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the research group and can contribute to its further scientific development.

Terms of employment
The employment will be 10 % of full time.
