Subject description
Lund University GIS Centre at the Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science is going to employ a researcher for a short period to implement machine learning algorithms for evacuation planning.

Work duties
Detailed description of the work duties are:
• Research within the subject area
• Implementation of algorithms
• Publishing papers in scientific journals
• Administration related to the work duties listed above

Qualification requirements
Applicants must have:
• A MSc or equivalent research qualification within the subject of the position.
• Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
• Good knowledge and experience in machine learning techniques and their applications in evacuation planning

Assessment criteria and other qualifications
The assessment will be done based on the criteria mentioned in the qualifications requirements. Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.

Terms of employment
The employment is full time, 100%, within the period 1 June 2020 to 30 September 2021.
