The doctoral student will be working within the research project Hunting a notion of gathered motion - Mesolithic mobility, territory and land use in southern Scandinavia. The project is funded by the Swedish research council and aims at discovering the mobility of stone age hunter-gatherers by way of analysing strontium isotopes in teeth.

Work assignments

Doctoral education. Departmental work can be assigned.

Lithic analyses on mesolithic scandinavian flint. Strontium isotope analysis on mesolithic teeth through laser ablation and development of strontium isotope baseline map covering southern Scandinavia.

Additionally, the following is required for the position:

- documented knowledge of South Scandinavian mesolithic lithic technological analysis

- previous work with strontium isotope analysis

 

Assessment basis

The selection process will primarily take into account the applicants’ ability to benefit from third cycle studies. This is assessed from the criteria quality, quantity, progression and relevance.

 

The application must include:

- records of first- and second-cycle studies (Ladok transcript or other transcript of courses and grades)

- first- and second-cycle theses/degree projects

- a list of other relevant administrative and educational qualifications

- scholarly journal articles, reports or papers of relevance for the subject

- where applicable, documented skills in a language of relevance for the research studies

- project proposal (1500 words max. excluding references)
The proposed project should be related to the research project Hunting a notion of gathered motion.
