Work duties
We are looking for a researcher to develop attosecond technology. This implies to improve specifications and control of ultrashort laser pulses (with duration a few femtoseconds) and attosecond pulses generated by high-order harmonic generation in gases.

The work duties include:

  • Operate, maintain and develop a femtosecond laser system based on OPCPA or titanium sapphire technology.
  • Develop characterization methods for ultrashort laser pulses
  • Optimise the generation of attosecond pulses through harmonic generation in gases

And, partly;

  • Teaching in the first, second and third cycles of studies
  • Supervision of degree projects and doctoral students
  • Actively seeking external research funding
  • Collaboration with industry and wider society
  • Administration related to the work duties listed above

Qualification requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A PhD or equivalent research qualification within the subject of the position.
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
  • Very good knowledge and experience of femtosecond laser systems

Assessment criteria and other qualifications

  • Experience with high-order harmonic generation in gases
  • Experienece with characterizing ultrashort laser pulses

Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.

Terms of employment
Fixed-term employment, 2 years, 100 %.
