The research team

The research group Lund University breast Cancer Imaging conducts research on novel imaging modalities to improve clinical accuracy and affordability of breast cancer screening programmes. The group is led by Professor Sophia Zackrisson and consists of research and technical personnel. The group is located at SUS in Malmö. Here you can read more about our exciting research.

We are now looking for a project assistant for six months of full-time work. The desirable start date is 2020-06-15.

Duties

The duties for the project assistant in the project "Simultaneous DBTMI" includes developing computer simulation of the tissue mechanical properties and mechanical imaging (MI) devices and data processing, to be used as a part of the simulation platform for performing virtual clinical trials of novel imaging systems based upon the used of MI, as well as collaborating on articles for publication in international journals with peer-review. There are also others existing tasks within the research group that may be relevant to this project.

Qualifications

The position requires:

  • MSc in biomechanical engineering or an equvialent degree.
  • Experience working with finite element simulation studies of the breast tissue.

Personal characteristics:

Good at working independently as well as collaborating in an intercultural environment.

Eligibility for the position is:

  • Good knowledge of tissue mechanical properties related to breast cancer.
  • Experiences in Matlab, FEBio, iso2mesh, OpenVCT or other FE, meshing and VCT design programs.
