Subject description
The subject of this researcher position is electrical engineering oriented towards wireless communication. More specifically the objective of the research is to explore prototyping technology for 5G millimeter-wave (mmWave) massive multiple-input multiple-out (MIMO) systems. The research area covers both theory and practical aspects of wireless communication system design and hardware implementation, including both radio frequency (RF) signalling and digital signal processing. The detailed work duties related to research include 1) investigation of the overall system architecture for the targeted new type of wireless system, 2) design and implementation of the system with commercial software-defined radio (SDR) platforms, 3) system integration and field trial.

Qualification requirements
Applicants must have:
- A PhD or equivalent research qualification within the subject of the position.
- Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
- Good knowledge in both wireless communication systems and prototyping technologies.

Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.
Terms of employment
Fixed-term employment, 5-6 months, 100 %.
