Lund University GIS Centre at the Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science is going to employ a researcher for a short period to study the impacts of politics on disaster management in the Middle East and Central Asia.

Work duties

Detailed description of the work duties are:

  • To study the impacts of politics on disaster management in Central Asia and the Middle East, through questionnaire surveys and literature reviews
  • To produce reports based on the results of the studies
  • To record lectures about the study
  • Administration related to the work duties listed above 

Qualification requirements

Applicants must have:

  • An International MSc degree in political science
  • A good study design in mind
  • Very good oral and written proficiency in English
  • Experience in  the use of geography and spatial analysis in political science studies is an advantage
  • Experience about producing education related reports is an advantage

Assessment criteria and other qualifications
The assessment will be done based on the criteria mentioned in the qualifications requirements. Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen the ongoing project within the department, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.

Terms of employment
The employment is full time, 100%, within the period 1 September - 31 October, 2020.
