As part of the Information Management Systems team you will be in a unique position to help the scientific community collect research data, make data available to researchers world-wide and make an impact on how information is managed within the research environment. We are looking for self-starters with a passion for learning new technologies. In your new role you will contribute to the development of a new ‘User Office System’ that facilitates researchers apply for beam time at MAX IV. You will also take part in the other activities of the team that includes development and maintenance of web tools, representing the team in various forums internally and externally and assisting various MAX IV departments with their IT needs. Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related
Minimum of five years of documented experience as a professional full stack developer using php/java/python, Javascript, html, jQuery, css and SQL
Experience with RDBMS/NoSQL databases like MySQL, Oracle or MongoDB
Experience with web servers like Apache, NginX
Experience with Linux and on-premise installation
Strong communication skills, fluent in English

Desirable:

Experience in Nodejs, Typescript, ES6, React, PostgreSQL
Experience in JSON, GraphQL, REST
Experience with Docker, Ansible, git, Continuous Integration, Agile
Experience in event driven architecture, RabbitMQ
Experience in migrating data from legacy systems

MAX IV is a Swedish national large-scale research infrastructure hosted by Lund University. It provides scientists from Sweden and abroad, with intense x-rays and state-of-the-art instrumentation for research in areas such as engineering, physics, structural biology, chemistry and nanotechnology. Its 16 beamlines receive up to 2 000 scientists annually, conducting ground-breaking experiments in materials and life sciences using the brilliant X-rays.

The ICT teams at MAX IV are placed under the Technical Division and deliver solutions to the whole MAX IV organisation in the areas of electronics, software, infrastructure and scientific data. This is a dynamic and highly challenging environment and requires close collaboration with the beamline staff in order to understand the needs and be effective in forming solutions. We are around 50 people in total who work in 4 domains in a well-organised and agile way. We hold values of lean management, knowledge spread, user autonomy, continuous improvement and flexibility as guiding principles for our work.
