Research project in developmental psychology
The Department of Psychology is announcing a doctoral position within a 10-year longitudinal, prospective research project in Deliberate self-harm, emotion regulation and interpersonal relations in youth (SoL). The overall purpose of the project is to investigate psychological adaptation and quality of life in young adults and how these are affected by factors 10 years earlier (ie in adolescence).
The doctoral student position is partly financed by a grant from the Crafoord Foundation (reference number 20200700).
The doctoral student project
The doctoral project Longitudinal trajectories of the co-occurence of disordered eating and self-injury among Swedish youth. A 10-year follow up, which is a part of the SoL project, has both cross-sectional and longitudinal parts:
In his/her part of the project, the doctoral student will work independently with great personal responsibility for data management and data analysis. To the application, the applicant should attach a research plan that contains their own initial ideas about what would be interesting to investigate in terms of disordered eating and non-suicidal self-injury as well as related factors, from a developmental psychological perspective.
The employment of doctoral students is regulated in the Swedish Code of Statues 1998: 80. Only those who are or have been admitted to PhD-studies may be appointed to doctoral studentships. When an appointment to a doctoral studentship is made, the ability of the student to benefit from PhD-studies shall primarily be taken into account. In addition to devoting themselves to their studies, those appointed to doctoral studentships may be required to work with educational tasks, research and administration, in accordance with specific regulations in the ordinance.

Eligibility
Students with basic eligibility for third-cycle studies are those who- have completed a second-cycle degree- have completed courses of at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 credits are from second-cycle courses, or- have acquired largely equivalent knowledge in some other way, in Sweden or abroad.
