The position is placed within the project Based on a true story? How to differentiate between invented and self-experienced narratives through comparing linguistic processes in speaking and writing, which is financed by Marcus and Amalia Wallenberg Foundation. The part of the project that is relevant for the doctoral position aims at investigating linguistic processes in language production in speaking and writing, and to compare these. Particularly, the project's purpose is to describe and compare the differences in language production between intended and self-experienced narratives.

 

Work assignments

Doctoral education. Departmental work can be assigned.

Within the project, the narratives are collected by means of keystroke logging, eye-tracking and audio recordings, and the participants will be speaking Swedish.

In addition, documented knowledge of a Scandinavian language is required.

Meriting for the position is a psycholinguistic background, especially concerning aspects of collecting and analyzing language production.

 

Assessment basis

The selection process will primarily take into account the applicants’ ability to benefit from third cycle studies. This is assessed from the criteria quality, quantity, progression and relevance.

 

The application must include:

- records of first- and second-cycle studies (Ladok transcript or other transcript of courses and grades)

- first- and second-cycle theses/degree projects

- a list of other relevant administrative and educational qualifications

- scholarly journal articles, reports or papers of relevance for the subject

- where applicable, documented skills in a language of relevance for the research studies

- project proposal (1500 words max. excluding references)
