We announce a Researcher position within astronomy and astrophysics in the Department of Astronomy and Theoretical Physics.
The successful applicant will work in the planet formation team. This team is led by Anders Johansen, who has a large expertise and experience within the research area. The group has achieved funding to employ a researcher for two years.
Work duties
The researcher will work on the formation of planets and moons by pebble accretion. The project involves calculating the growth and migration of moons around giant planets and planets around young stars. The composition of the moons and the planets, particularly the water contents, will also be calculated. The results will be compared with the observed population of the moons of the Solar System and of exoplanets.
Qualifications
The applicant must hold a PhD in astrophysics and have a research profile within computational models of moon formation and planet formation by pebble accretion and calculating the chemical composition of moons and planets. Experience with running N-body simulations of moon and planet formation is also a requirement.
Application procedure
The application should consist of a short description of current research (max 1 page), CV and publication list.
